Very little information is free to genealogists on the Web.  It seems like every time you turn around, you have to pay a fee for this and a fee for that.  Philadelphia is no exception.  You can search Philadelphia deeds, from 1683 to 1974, for a fee.  The thing that irks me is the fee is a flat $100 for a year.  One hundred dollars?  Couldn’t they have made it $10 for a month of searches?  Or for 10 searches?  One hundred dollars?  I think that is a bit excessive.  I have one property that I want to research.  That is it.  I’m not willing to pay $100 to do it.  Come on Philly, can’t you cut us genealogists a break?
