The Department of Veterans Affairs has a very handy database of veterans and their family members who were buried in VA National Cemeteries, state veterans cemeteries, various other military and Department of Interior cemeteries, and for veterans buried in private cemeteries when the grave is marked with a government grave marker.

It provides you with a wealth of information, such as branch of service, rank, dates of birth and death, cemetery name and place, usually including the row and plot numbers and for some graves a plot map.

This is a wonderful tool for researchers and family members who would like to know where their loved ones that served for our country are resting.
